[GUIDE] How to raise you're FPS
« on: 7 July 2009, 12:55:20 »

Hey
As I stated in another topic if there was some people that wanted a quick little guide to raise you're FPS I would make one and here it is.
This guide is mainly for the people that are using a NVIDIA graphic card as I don't know how to operate with other graphic card softwares.

Step 1:
Go to you're desktop where all you're icons are and right click at an empty spot and you will see "NVIDIA Control Panel" and click at that. Picture is shown below

Step 2:
When you open you're control panel you will see some there is different things you can go into to and change it if you want, here is shown a picture below how mine looks like and I will guide you though how to do it. You will see first when you open the control panel something that says "3D Settings" and then go down to it says "Manage 3D Settings" and then you will get this display, picture shown below.

Step 3:
Okay, I will show you in picture format how this should be made instead of writing :). Remember, you only need to change 3 different functions off so be carefull.

And now you only need to turn off the last one wich is down at the bottom

When you get ingame then open the console and write "developer 1" and you're FPS should be quite high without writing anything else, with these settings I just shown you how you do I get my FPS on 170 - 190 regulary.

How can you call it numbers when it changes you're frames you see, I would recommend you then to see a difference, try to lower you're FPS at 10 and you will notice that you cannot play with that FPS.

so for me it's just numbers

As you stated that I wanted you to try to get a lower FPS and see the difference between a high FPS and a low FPS, you can't really see a difference if its allready high but there is one difference, trust me.

Yeah Omri..we have tested it and what EkO said is true..u cant tell the difference between 100 fps and 280 or 300fps (if u want) because cs is an old game..it doesnt need a powerfull graphic card to play even with old graphic card/ intel's integrated graphic chip on a motherboard you can run cs without any problem...unlike the modern graphic game like Crysis,Fallout 3,Left 4 Dead (to name a few) where the difference between 100 and 300fps will be noticeable because there are so many details to be processed and shown in the screen (moving trees, real time explosions,100 zombies running towards u and etc etc)

and u are correct if u lower your fps to 10 you will get a huge difference in graphic comparing to 100fps..but trust me, u cant even tell the difference when it comes to comparing between 100fps and 280fps in cs and btw, I read in some forums they even beat the 300 fps  by o.clocking thier cpu and gpu and they can reach up to 500fps in CS..and still they said..no difference

Nice guide OMri..very helpful to other people..keep up the good work

Hello R2zt
I admire that you wanted to take you're time to write that answer, but I must agree on some points and disagree with some points, you are right about that you can't see the difference between 100 fps and 280 for example, but why not have more frames if its possible ?. I would rather have if possible 300 fps than 100 fps, also if I could not see any difference personally but I can't say more as I am not an expert in FPS.

When I execute this command in the console I get no lagg, you could also just write it before you connect to the server IP :).
